Conveniently located between the wilderness of Dartmoor to the south and the popular North Cornwall coastal town of Bude to the west, Orchard Keepers Cottage is a delightful fully equipped self catering cottage for two that provides a perfect hideaway from the stresses and strains of modern life. On the ground floor is a catering/living area and shower room, and upstairs is a double bedroom with patio doors leading to an outside terrace with unspoilt views across open countryside. The Cottage is part of West Lake Farm which is located within traditional Devon farmland and is accessed via a single track lane, where the sounds of the countryside can be enjoyed along with a dark sky that has no light pollution.
West lake Farm has 13 acres of paddocks, pastures and orchards all of which guests are encouraged to explore and enjoy. In the bottom field is a natural lake, this area of the farm is particularly remote, and is a haven for wildlife with an abundance of wild flowers. Orchard Keepers Cottage is the only holiday let on site, ensuring that the natural peace and quiet of the location is maintained. There are many footpaths to explore in the area, and bicycles are available for guests to use at no extra cost.
There is ample parking outside the Cottage, although guests with disabilities are advised to contact the owners prior to booking in order to discuss their needs as there are some high steps leading up to the cottage and the upstairs bedroom. Guests are welcome to bring a maximum of 2 dogs for their stay, although this will attract an additional charge of £20. Doggy day care may also be available upon request.
