“We love to talk food and farming with our guests, and you are very welcome to stroll round our 380 acres and observe our 80 suckler cows and their calves, along with about 90 ewes and their lambs. We fatten several batches of outdoor-reared pigs each year, and feeding time is a highlight! You might like to help collect the eggs from our free range hens for your breakfast, or see a new born calf.”

Our farm is set in a beautiful part of the South Hams in South Devon. It is within easy reach of the Devon Expressway, and from here you can explore the area with its many beaches, interesting and historic towns, and Dartmoor, with its rugged landscape is only a mile away. For those who wish to travel a little further, the Eden Project is 1 1/2 hours drive away, making it an easy day trip.

Ugborough is a pretty village with a huge church on a mound overlooking the Village Square. There is an excellent pub, our guests always praise the food. It is within walking distance, harder coming back than going down, as we live on top of the hill! The pub belonging to the winner of 2012's Masterchef is only about 8 miles away - you may wish to sample Anton's wonderful food!

Our house has magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, which is very traditional South Devon farmland, with high stone and earth-built banks, which we call hedges! In spring they are smothered with primroses, which later give way to campion, cow parsley, stitchwort and meadowsweet to name a few.

Our four bedrooms are decorated and appointed to a high standard, with tea-making facilities and flat screen TVs in each. Two are en-suite and two have a private bathroom, these are all a generous size, and all have a bath and separate walk-in shower. There is a guest sitting room with TV and DVD player, and a woodburner for chilly evenings.

The Breakfast room has views of the garden and the farm, and particularly on sunny days makes for an inspiring start! Many of the items offered for breakfast are organic and/or homemade. Almost everything is grown, bought or produced locally.

We have lived here for 41 years now, and have created a warm and friendly place to take a break. Many of our guests return again and again, and have become friends of the family.
